Insulating Castable

Insulating castable refractory materials are key to this energy-saving process due to their inherent low heat conductivity as well as advantages derived from ease of placement and structural strength. However, with so many local, national and global manufacturers delivering to market a myriad of material technologies and products, accurate specification is a highly challenging task. Insulating castable is refractory with light weight and high porosity. Insulating castable properties are mainly decided by its composition. Some light weight refractory materials are added into the this castable, therefore insulating castable refractory density is low, about 1.5 g/cm3. In addition, light weight insulation castable material has high cold crushing strength, and thermal insulation. With good workability, strong cohesion, it can be easily constructed. Insulating castable has strong impermeability, which is easy for the forming of dense and full seam and improve the air tightness, integrate of the inner wall of the chimney.

According to refractory temperature, light weight insulation castable refractory can be divided to be low temperature insulating castable, medium temperature insulating castable and high temperature insulating castable refractory. These insulating castables have different service temperature, such as the first one is 600-900℃, the second is 900-1200℃, and the last one is over 1200℃.
